1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us, such as when you create an account, use our services, or contact us for support. This may include:
• Account information (username, email address)
• Authentication information (Google account basic profile such as name and email, Sign in with Apple account details, and one-time login codes sent to your email)
• Profile information (bio, profile pictures)
• Garden data (plants, seeds, harvests, reminders)
• Location data (for weather zone detection)
• Seedlyn AI chat messages, optional plant photos you send in chat, and related garden context (see Section 10)
• Feed post photos you upload (see Section 10)
• Usage data (app interactions, features used, screens viewed)
• Analytics data collected through Google Analytics for Firebase (see Section 9), such as app opens, feature usage (e.g. adding seeds or sowings), login method, and device/app identifiers used to measure engagement
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
• Provide and maintain our gardening services, including logging you in with Google, Sign in with Apple, or a one-time email code (no password required)
• Send you plant care reminders and notifications
• Personalize your gardening experience
• Improve our app and develop new features, including by measuring how features are used through Firebase Analytics
• Power Seedlyn AI gardening advice and automated feed photo review (see Section 10)
• Communicate with you about updates and support
• Ensure the security and integrity of our services, including rate limiting and abuse prevention for login and email code requests
3. Information Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to third parties without your consent, except:
• With your explicit permission
• To comply with legal obligations
• To protect our rights and safety
• With trusted service providers who assist us in operating our app (under strict confidentiality agreements), including Google (Firebase hosting, authentication, storage, Google Analytics for Firebase for product analytics, and Google Cloud AI services used for gardening features and content safety—see Section 10) and Apple for Sign in with Apple authentication
4. Data Security
We implement appropriate security measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. This includes:
• Encryption of data in transit and at rest
• Regular security audits and updates
• Access controls and authentication
• Secure cloud infrastructure
5. Your Rights
You have the right to:
• Access your personal information

• Delete your account and data
• Opt out of marketing emails (via Settings)

6. Account Deletion
When you delete your account, we will permanently delete:
• Your profile information (username, email, bio, profile picture)
• All your posts and comments
• All your seed collections and planting history
• All images you uploaded (posts, sowing photos, profile pictures)
• Your Seedlyn AI chat history
• All your wishlist items
We may retain anonymized reports for moderation and legal compliance purposes. These reports will have all personally identifiable information removed and cannot be linked back to you.
Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Please ensure you want to proceed before confirming deletion.
7. Children’s Privacy
Seedlyn is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 13, please do not use this app or provide any information.
If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete that information as quickly as possible. If you believe we might have any information from or about a child under 13, please contact us at info@seedlyn.com.
8. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. Specifically:
• Account data: Retained until you delete your account
• Posts and comments: Retained until deleted by you or account deletion
• Garden/seed data: Retained until you delete your account
• Seedlyn AI chat history: Retained until you delete individual chats or your account
• Usage logs: Retained for up to 90 days for security purposes
• Analytics data: Retained according to Google Analytics for Firebase retention settings (typically aggregated reports; event-level data is retained for a limited period as described in Google’s documentation)
After account deletion, all your personal data is permanently removed within 30 days, except for anonymized or aggregated analytics data that cannot reasonably be linked back to you.
9. Analytics and App Measurement
Seedlyn is a mobile application and does not use browser cookies. We use Google Analytics for Firebase (part of Google Firebase) to understand how the app is used and to improve it.
This may include:
• App activity (screens viewed, buttons used, custom events such as adding a seed, starting a sowing, or posting to the feed)
• Device and app identifiers (e.g. app instance ID) and general device information
• Your Firebase account user ID, linked to analytics only to measure usage across sessions—not for advertising
We do not use Firebase Analytics for advertising or to sell your data. Google may process this data on our behalf; see Google\’s Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy and Firebase terms at https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
Local storage on your device may also be used for authentication and app preferences.
9A. Sign in with Apple
If you choose Sign in with Apple, Apple shares authentication data with Seedlyn through Firebase Authentication. Depending on your Apple settings, this may include:
• Your Apple account identity token and authorization data
• Your name (typically provided on first sign-in only)
• Your email address, which may be your real email or an Apple private relay address
If you use Apple’s private email relay, we use the relay address as your account email unless you change it in-app. Sign in with Apple is optional, and you can use other supported login methods instead.
10. Artificial Intelligence and Automated Processing
Seedlyn uses artificial intelligence to provide gardening features and keep the community feed safe. These features are powered by our servers and Google Cloud AI (Gemini via Vertex AI). We do not use your data for third-party advertising.
Seedlyn AI chat
When you use Seedlyn AI, we process:
• The messages you send and recent chat history in that conversation
• Optional plant photos you attach in chat (resized on your device before upload) to help identify plants or answer visual questions
• Your garden context (e.g. seeds in My Seeds, active sowings, plant names)
• Your general location and local weather used for gardening advice
This information is sent to our backend and processed by Google Cloud AI to generate replies. Chat history (including linked photo URLs when you send a photo) is stored in your account so you can return to past conversations. Photos are stored in your private Firebase Storage area under your account. We apply daily limits on messages and photos to prevent abuse. You can start new chats at any time.
‘Feed photo review
When you submit a photo to the community feed, we automatically review it before it becomes visible to others. The image (resized on our servers) is processed by Google Cloud AI to help detect content that violates our Community Guidelines, such as nudity, screenshots, non-plant images, or images focused on people rather than plants. We may also apply rate limits to prevent abuse.
Other AI features
We also use Google Cloud AI to help generate and validate plant information when you add new seeds to the app.
Important notes
• We store daily usage counters in your account (for example, AI messages and photos sent) to enforce fair-use limits and prevent abuse
• AI replies are generated automatically and may be inaccurate—always use your own judgment for gardening decisions
• Do not share sensitive personal information in Seedlyn AI chat
• Automated review may reject a post; rejected posts are not shown on the public feed
• Google processes this data on our behalf under Google Cloud terms; see https://cloud.google.com/terms and https://policies.google.com/privacy
11. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, including the United States, where our service providers (such as Google Firebase) maintain servers.
These countries may have different data protection laws than your country. By using Seedlyn, you consent to this transfer. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
